Eclipse

This was actually supposed to be nothing more than the background for something else that I never got to XD
It was basically my final in my introductory art class this year, so I only had about three or four hours total to do it. I ran out of time. Still came out pretty, though! ^^
It's all acrylic paint, and all the colors were made from combinations of the three primaries and white and black. A couple different brushes were used. The anachronistic eclipse during late sunset was not a mistake, btw!
I tried hard to mimic the look of old Chinese and Japanese woodblock prints and paintings, but those often look watercolor-y and one of the requirements for this was to NOT make the paints watery. Ah, well...
I also took a lot of reference from the episodes "Beginnings, Parts 1 and 2" of The Legend of Korra, Book 2. Those two episodes were so beautifully done, oh my gosh... I really, reallyyyyy hope that DiMartino and Konietzko and Dos Santos make another Avatar series. I can't live off of Gurihiru and Gene Luen Yang's comics forever!! ;^)
